While you wait
Recommended actions before the technicians arrive
Taking a few simple precautions can help contain the issue and safeguard your property until the specialists arrive.
- If there is an active leak, stop the water flow and, if safe, disconnect electronics in the vicinity.
- Relocate area rugs, furniture, and other belongings from the wet zone.
- Close the door to the impacted room to prevent mold spores from circulating.
- Avoid cleaning or painting over mold growth, as this can disperse spores and conceal the source.
- Record when the issue began and capture some pictures, which can assist with insurance documentation.
